Introducing Our Legacy Giving Program
We are excited to announce the formation of the Arm in Arm in Africa Endowment to ensure that the support we provide our ‘family’ in South Africa will continue for generations to come. The Endowment fulfills a long-terms goal of Fr. Jim Cassidy and Pat Murphy, our co-founders, that our organization would survive beyond their lifetimes and those of our generous donors.

The Endowment was launched in 2021 and is managed by Bond & Devick. Arm in Arm started the Endowment with a $200,000 transfer in reserve funds, supported by an additional gift of $100,000 from a generous donor. Additional gifts and transfers have grown total deposits to $575,000.

Investments will be made in accordance with guidelines established by AIAIA’s Board. The endowment will follow environmental, social and governance factors (ESG investing) -- alongside financial factors in the investment decision.

We are particularly excited that RJ Devick will be managing our portfolio. RJ is deeply involved in the Twin Cities community through his activities with many local charitable organizations. Most notable has been his work with People Serving People homeless shelter for which he helped establish two annual fundraisers. On a worldwide level, RJ and his wife, Teresa, have been instrumental in supporting and overseeing two schools located in southern Ethiopia (Hosanna and Ottoro) which is where their daughter, Aster, was born. They are also Alight (formally the American Refugee Committee) Change-makers.

If you would like to join our legacy giving community, the process of including AIAIA in your will is a simple one and we can offer professional assistance on a pro bono basis. For further information, please contact Dave Horstmann, AIAIA Controller, at 563-580-9794.
